・自動車運送業分野の「特定技能１号」になるための準備活動（日本の運転免許取得または新任運転者研修の修了）を希望する場合（「特定活動」（特定自動車運送業準備））
１号特定技能外国人として自動車運送業分野の業務に従事するためには、日本の運転免許取得のほか、タクシー運送業及びバス運送業においては新任運転者研修の修了が必要となることから、これらの準備を行う場合には、在留資格「特定活動」に係る在留資格認定証明書交付申請及び在留資格変更許可申請を行うことができます。
本特定活動を申請しようとする外国人本人（特定自動車運送業準備外国人）及び当該外国人を受け入れようとする所属機関（特定自動車運送業準備所属機関）は、本人の日本の運転免許取得及び新任運転者研修の修了を除き、その他の要件については特定技能１号の申請を行う際と同様の要件を満たす必要があります。
本特定活動で認められる活動内容は次のとおりです。
・ 外免切替等による運転免許の取得に係る諸手続（自動車教習所への通所を含む。）
・ 新任運転者研修の受講（タクシー運送業及びバス運送業の場合）
・ 車両の清掃等の関連業務
※本特定活動の在留期間は、トラック運転者の場合６月、タクシー運転者及びバス運転者の場合１年であり、在留期間の更新はできません。
※特定自動車運送業準備外国人は、１号特定技能外国人としての活動を行う予定である機関との雇用契約に基づき、上記の活動を行うことができます。
※本特定活動の在留期間が残っている場合でも、運転免許の取得及び新任運転者研修（タクシー運送業及びバス運送業の場合）を修了した場合は、速やかに「特定技能１号」への在留資格変更許可申請を行っていただく必要があります。
※本特定活動で在留した期間については、特定技能１号の通算在留期間に含まれません。
・If you wish to engage in preparatory activities to become ‘Specified Skills No.１’ in the automobile transport industry (obtaining a Japanese driver’s license or completing new driver training)(‘Specified activities (Preparation for Specified Automobile Transport Industry)’)
In order to work in the automobile transportation industry as a Type 1 specified skilled foreign national, you will need to obtain a Japanese driver’s license, and in the taxi and bus transportation industries, you will need to complete new driver training. Therefore, if you are making these preparations, you can apply for a Certificate of Eligibility for the “Designated Activities” residence status and apply for permission to change your residence status.
The foreign national who wishes to apply for this designated activity (a foreign national preparing to work in the designated automobile transport industry) and the organization that will accept the foreign national (an organization preparing to work in the designated automobile transport industry) are required to obtain a Japanese driver’s license and complete the new driver training course, and are not required to meet any other requirements.You must meet the same requirements as when applying for specific skills No. 1..
The activities permitted under this Specified Activity are as follows:
・ Procedures for obtaining a driver’s license through foreign license conversion, etc. (including attending a driving school)
・ Attending training for new drivers (for taxi and bus transport companies)
・Vehicle cleaning and other related tasks
*The period of stay for this Designated Activities visa is six months for truck drivers and one year for taxi and bus drivers, and the period of stay cannot be renewed.
*Specified automobile transport industry preparation foreign national can carry out the above activities based on an employment contract with the organization where they plan to engage in activities as Type 1 specified skilled foreign national .
*Even if you have remaining period of stay for this designated activities visa, if you obtain a driver’s license and complete new driver training (in the case of the taxi and bus transportation industries), you will need to apply for permission to change your status of residence to “Specified Skills No. 1” as soon as possible.
*The period of stay for this specific activity will not be included in the total period of stay for specific skills category 1.
